Dog Smarts

SCOOP THE POOP

ALWAYS pick up after your pet; including during inclement weather, rain and snow

STREAM ON THE GREEN

Try to discourage your dog from urinating on sidewalks, grates & buildings. Go the extra distance and bring your dog to a grassy area.

POOP IS POOP

Go the extra mile; consider picking up that pile you come across which was left by someone else’s pet and technically is not your responsibility

HUSH THE PUP

Try to discourage your dog’s excessive barking; if you can’t control your pet’s barking, move away from the situation.

SSSSHHHH THEY ARE SLEEPING

Respect the “quiet hours” for South Loop neighbors that live on park’s. All Chicago parks close at 11 PM and open at sunrise.

STAY AWAY FROM PEOPLE’S PLANTS

Be considerate of our neighborhood’s gardens and landscaping.

NO DIG, YOU DIG?

Discourage your dog from digging holes so that the neighborhood doesn’t look like a war zone with land mines.

HANG ON TO YOUR DOG

Be aware that there is a City ordinance that requires dogs be leashed in City parks; tickets have been written for dogs off-leash.

You can print the Dog Smarts brochure and pass it around!

The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly“, is a nice article about dog parks
